Scenic City Smokers is a Kansas City Barbecue Society competition cooking team based in Chattanooga, TN. The Kansas City Barbecue Society is the world’s largest sanctioning body of professional barbecue competitions. If you’ve watched the food channel in recent years, there’s a good chance you’ve seen shows highlighting KCBS events around the country.

Wade Cook “Chief” has been cooking barbecue and grilling since his teenage years. In 2005 he decided to take his barbecue to the next level. He became a

Certified Barbecue Judge through the KCBS Certified Judging class and began to judge KCBS events around the southeast.

In April 2008, Scenic City Smokers made their debut at the Winchester High on the Hog BBQ competition in Winchester, TN. There were 54 teams competing for over $10,000 in prize money. Many of the nation’s top 10 teams were competing at this event. Scenic City Smokers won 1st Place Pork!
